about

The band originally chose to record Being Lonely during the Covid lockdown in 2020, partly due to the loneliness of lockdown itself, but also due to the higher unemployment figures. Sadly, we see loneliness becoming more of an issue in society generally, so the original recording (from our album "So Clear") has been re-worked and this single is the result.

lyrics

You're sat at home and you've got nothing to do
It's four-o-clock on a Friday afternoon
There's people passing by got their eyes on you
And you're standing in the queue you've got no job to do

The sun doesn't shine like it used to do
The drizzle in the air mixed with streetlight glare
If looks could kill, you'd be feeling ill
You've got the skills to pay the bills
But you don't know what to do.

Don't know what to do being lonely
Don't know how to take being lonely
Don't know what to do being lonely
Don't know how to take being lonely

You've got a family to support
How you're gonna do it on income support
Their clothes are torn but you've got a form
And now you're wishing you'd never been born.

Don't know what to do being lonely
Don't know how to take being lonely
Don't know what to do being lonely
Don't know how to take being lonely
